Heading for Poland: Summer in Viena

In Vienna on November 12, 2009 at 10:34 pm

We arrived in Vienna in the afternoon. Actually, at about lunchtime.   Vienna is a green and busy  city  with loads of  parks. We stayed in a hotel,  Hotel Resonanz Vienna, 200m from the city centre at the Jewish quarter: 70 euros for an ensuite including breakfast.  The breakfast buffet is excellent: juices, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cookies, toast. Yummie…

As the hotel is not far from the main tourist sites, we went for  a lovely  walking – tour.

We started our tour from the Museumquartier: it is the largest complex of museum in the world.

We visited the Museum of Fine Art.

We went to the The Natural History Museum which faces to other aristocratic building, The Art History Museum.

Tips:

Drink a coffee in the café of The Museum of Fine Art, looking breathless the barroque ceiling and elegant room.

Have an ice cream in the best Ice Shop of  Vienna, the Italian Zanoni.

Treat yourself and go shopping in the central shopping area: the city is packed with nice branded shops.

Pay a guided tour to visit the backstage of the Vienna State Opera.

Go to the Mumok.

Watch a film connected to an opera in the Film Festival in front of the Vienna City Hall.

Eat the world famous cake, The Sacher Torte.

Just relax and have a pic-nic at the Stadpark.
