What a hell, it is just Hell’s Kitchen!

Life is Journey went to New York’s outdoor markets, specially Green Flea and Hell’s Kitchen. Oh well, Green Flea market‘s location is lovely. A year-round market which is indoor and outdoor located in one of the best areas of Manhattan, Columbus Ave at 77th. Just a walk away from Central Park, American Museum of Natural History and not so far you will find the fabulous Lincoln Center. Market opens rain or shine and on Sundays there is farmer’s market.

But Hell’s Kitchen market surprised us a lot. The market is located at West 39th Street & 9th Avenue. We walked from East 39th till the market and it was nice walk since we found out that at West 39th there are loads of fabric shops, in fact the area is called Fabric street. The area, which didn’t have a good reputation, worths a visit.  The place is packed with pubs and restaurants and if you go down at the 10th and 9th you arrive in Chelsea with all elegant galleries and studios.

Life is a Journey bought an old speaker (because we collect old radios), a radio and two pages from 50’s mag that became pictures and are in our kitchen wall.

Life is Journey’s top flea market in NYC:

Smorgasburg: rain or shine, every Saturday and there is also a greenmarket.

Williamsburg: another rain or shine, every Sunday though.

Brooklyn Market: unique, the coolest of all.
